Local fed spending skyrockets 169% in Q3 2011

Government austerity may be on the horizon, but federal contracting with local companies skyrocketed in the third quarter of 2011, according to data collected by OBJ.

The amount of federal contracts, standing offers and supply arrangements valued at more than $100,000 and awarded to Ottawa companies between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31 hit $694.89 million, according to information published on the online contracting site Merx.
