An Ottawa festival celebrating everything maple? Yes please!

A Ottawa festival that seems to have had little publicity is the Maple Sugar Fest. It is a yearly festival that celebrates the maple sugar season during the last week of march, at North America’s only urban sugar shack. That’s right, you don’t even need to go far! The festivities are all located at the sugar shack in Richelieu Park in Vanier.

The festival ends this weekend with a bunch of really great events, including wii, competitions activities at the Vanier library. As well, there is a pancake breakfast on Saturday, and a brunch on Sunday. Be sure to check out the Vanier Museopark while you’re there.

Looks like a great time!
